A. Overhead - we specialize in "Laser Cutting" ... We do offer full turn-key solutions, but why pay overhead for a unused service.
Q. How long have you been working with metal and Laser machines?
A. We started back in 1989, when lasers first started to be popular and worked with Trumpf, Cincinnati and Amada Lasers. We also worked break presses and forming tools. Back in the mid 90's, we worked with Trumpf in developing hands on programming software.
Q. What types of files do you work with?
A. We use AutoCAD. We work with .dwg - .dxf -.iges - .tiff - and files we can convert are .pdf - .jpeg - .gif - .png files.
Q. We have art work that we would like to get cut out of metaL
A. No problem. Send us a black and white line art drawing and we can scan it and convert to CNC code for laser cutting.
Q. I am a student at The Art Institute of Chicago, and we are working on a metal art project. Is this something you will get involved with?
A. Yes, we help a lot of students from schools. In fact a few of the students are now employed in the manufacturing sector and we still do work for them and their employers.
Q. We have a project that we need help on designing.
A. We have engineers that will help in all phases of manufacturing your item.
Q. We use Adobe Photoshop and Elements software and have art work created using splines, will they work?
A. Actually no, we need files that are in vector form, like a polyline or standard geometry code ... We can not convert raster files, however we could scan line art and convert for you.
Q. We only need a prototype, but may need thousands of parts.
A. Yes, we do prototypes and don't worry, we have tool and die business partners that can punch parts and set up yearly delivery schedules.
Q. We have an existing part we need manufactured.
A. We can reverse engineer those for you.
Q. So how can RonTro save me money?
A. We will work with target pricing. We always beat any of our competitors.
Q. Do you take credit cards?
A. Yes, in fact a lot of our larger customers prefer to pay us that way. We accept Visa and Master Card.
Q. What is your standard lead-time?
A. You make that decision for us. If you need it now, you will get it now. We have gotton up in the middle of the night to make parts for a down machine to keep the presses rolling.
